Adventures in North Georgia - First Friday Event at the High Museum

A few weeks ago I attended an event called First Friday at the High Museum. I have a friend who is a member of the museum, so when he told me the theme for the party was Winnie the Pooh, I knew I needed to go. We put together a pretty good group and all headed down to Midtown Atlanta to check it out. On top of being able to explore the exhibits, they had paint your own clay pots, tea making, honey beauty products and a bar with honey themed drinks. I had seen the promotions for the Pooh exhibit, while driving around town, but I never expected to see original drawings and the evolution of how Pooh and his friends have changed over the years. I took a ton of photos throughout the exhibit, so instead of posting them all here, I put together a couple of slideshows to share them! Check out the photos below!

By attending this event, you also had access to the rest of the exhibits in the museum. It was a lot of fun to walk through the exhibits and hear different thoughts and opinions about each piece of art. I also took a lot of photos of the pieces of art, so I put these in a slideshow as well!

While my friends were waiting in the line for the bar, I decided to head over to the table to paint a clay pot. I decided to put my name on one side and flowers on the other sides. The decorated pot is currently sitting in my room and I need to figure out what plant/flower I should put in it. If you have any suggestions, please let me know!

As I mentioned above, this event was called First Friday and theme changes each month. This Friday the High Museum will be having the August First Friday, which is an Alternative Prom. If you are interested in checking out Winnie the Pooh: Exploring a Classic, it will be at the museum until September 2, 2018! Hurry over to the High Museum to check it out!
