Goodbye 2019, Cheers to 2020!!
Can you believe that 2020 is right around the corner?! I don't know why, but I feel like we should still be in the month of October, not the end of December! As I look back over the past year, I wanted to share the top lessons I learned in 2019...
Family is the most important! I have been away from home for the past 5 years and this year has been the hardest! Each time I go home it gets harder and harder to come back to GA. I also had the pleasure of spending some time with my Dad, Stepmom and Sisters over this past year and it made me realize that I need to see them and spend time with them more often!
Pick Your Battles! You may want to respond to everything that happens in your life, but sometimes it may be in you best interest to brush it off and not let it phase you. Whether it is continuously getting passed over for a developmental opportunity at work, or a misunderstanding with a family member or friend. Only pick the battles that you are willing to live with whatever the end result will be!
Self Care isn't Selfish! Yes this is a shirt I posted in one of my gift guides, but it is also a very true statement! If you need to take some time away from something that doesn't fulfill you anymore, do it! If you are feeling stressed or anxious and need to do something for yourself? Do it! We are the only people who can make ourselves truly happy and we need to make sure we take care of ourselves!
Someone Else's Success is not Your Failure! 2019 was first full year in the blogger/influencer world. I continuously found myself comparing my number of followers or number of likes on a post rather than focusing on the content I was putting out there. It took me a while to learn there is a place out there for all of us, so just focus on what you can control and the content you are putting out there and everything will then fall into place!
Saying no is Okay! If you know about enneagrams, I am a 9, which is considered a people pleaser! I will fess up that this explains me 100% and there have been times where I have agreed to things that would put me in 3 different places at once! It has taken me a long time, and will continue to take time, to realize that saying no to things is okay!
Now that I have shared my lessons of 2019, I wanted to share some of my favorite moments from 2019! Let’s take a look!
Looking at all of these pictures bring back so many amazing and happy memories! From traveling to places for the first time, watching my sister marry her best friend, meeting the most amazing bloggers and influencers at The Blog Societies Conference, to spending ample time at my favorite place, Walt Disney World!
I am looking forward to the new year because I know 2020 is going to be one heck of a year! There are already some big changes in the works for 2020, which I am very excited about, but will be sharing with you at a later date! So, cheers to you 2019, we had a great run and you are definitely a year to remember! As far as 2020, let's do this!
