Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you've had a great day surrounded by friends and family, while you were stuffing your face with delicious food! I started my morning with our local Turkey Trot, like we typically do when Mom and I are in Jacksonville! We ran the 5k for the Community First Thanksgiving Distance Classic and it was the best weather we've ever had! It was 50 degrees at the start and it didn't really warm up because we had a good amount of cloud cover! It felt good to be back out there, since we haven't run in over 6 weeks! Hopefully this will get our butts in gear and running will become a regular thing for us again.
After the race, we waited for some friends to finish the half marathon and then we headed back to my grandparents house. When we got back I was very thankful for a warm breakfast, coffee and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. As much as I wanted to take a nap, I had to get cleaned up and start working on the items we needed to bring for Thanksgiving dinner. I have to say, spending the afternoon with friends and family was probably the highlight of the day. I always have a great time when we all get together!
