Thursday Top 5 - Hair and Skin Edition!

Welcome to the third edition of my Top 5! This was supposed to be posted on Tuesday, but the day got away from me, so I decided to post on Thursday! I am having so much fun with this! This week I am going to focus on my favorite hair and skincare products! Check them out below!

Tea Tree Shampoo - I started using this shampoo when I was in college, when I was diagnosed with have psoriasis of the scalp, but I eventually stopped using it because of the price. A few months ago my scalp started to reject every other shampoo I tried to use, so I knew I needed to go back to this shampoo. It has been a lifesaver and is now the only shampoo I use. I like to massage it into my scalp and leave it on for a few minutes. The tea tree oil will make your scalp tingle and feel really refreshed. I now use this daily, as everything else irritates my scalp, and I haven't found any cons for this shampoo. The tea tree shampoo is one of Harper Bazaar's The Beauty 150 Award Winner for best scalp treatment. You can purchase it directly through Paul Mitchell, Ulta, or your local Walmart salon. Several other stores carry the shampoo and it will typically cost about $14!

Tea Tree Hair and Scalp Treatment - I hadn't tried this until recently, but I am all for a good scalp treatment. The treatment goes on after you shampoo and leave it on for 3-5 minutes. I will typically wash my hair, put on the scalp treatment and then wash my face, body, shave, etc. Anything you need to do to pass the 3-5 minutes. The treatment has little beads in it that really helps with nourishing and treating the scalp. I use this 2-3 times per week and it is best post run! you can purchase the Hair and Scalp Treatment at Paul Mitchell or Ulta, I haven't seen it anywhere else so far! It will cost on about $18!

Bumble and Bumble Scalp Detox - I know you are looking at this right now thinking I just talked about this, but stay with me for a moment! I came across this item a few months ago and immediately decided I needed to try it. I love everything Bumble and Bumble, so it was to be good! I ordered it directly through their website and it arrived very quickly. It may seem like this is the same scalp detox as above, but it's not. This one you use when your hair is dry, before you wash it. It comes out like mousse and you apply directly to the scalp. It does feel cold when you put it on your head, but you will not get the tingly feeling you get with the tea tree detox. Once you have applied it, you will wait 3 minutes and then proceed with the shower. I do still use this with the tea tree shampoo above. This will cost you $34 and can be purchased directly from Bumble and Bumble, Sephora, Ulta or Nordstrom.

Rodan + Fields Unblemish - I mentioned a few Rodan + Fields products in my last top 5 post, but these two are my favorites! I started using unblemish about a year ago when my face started breaking out from working out and the bacteria left on gym equipment. I was literally blemish free one day and had 4-5 blemishes the next. I didn't like how it made me feel and the acne I was getting was really uncomfortable. I spoke with a friend of mine and she suggested I start the unblemish regimen because it helped her acne go away. I started the regimen the next day and saw a difference in my skin within the first week. The blemishes were getting smaller and new blemishes weren't forming. From someone who used Proactive as a teen, I knew this was a great product. I do still use this regimen several times a week, especially when I have a good sweaty workout! The retail price of the regimen is $180, but it does last 2-3 months. You can get a 20% discount if you sign up as a preferred customer.

Rodan + Fields Soothe Regimen - I am saving my absolute favorite for last! When I first started hearing about Rodan + Fields I kept telling everyone I had very sensitive skin and almost anything I use would cause my skin to rebel. At the time I was using a $3 face wash from Target and Johnson's & Johnson's Baby Lotion as my moisturizer (stick with what doesn't make your skin angry, am I right?!). A good friend of mine suggested I look into their Soothe regimen because it was great for sensitive skin and rosacea, which I have both! I figured it couldn't hurt to try, and with a 60 day money back guarantee, how could this be bad? When I tell you I love this regimen, I really mean LOVE! I have been using it for almost two years now and I don't have any problems with it. The redness in my face has gone down and it just makes my skin feel good. Soothe is a little cheaper than unblemish, $170 at retail, but there is still the 20% off you can get by becoming a preferred customer.
