Well, this post is going to be a little different than most of my other race recap posts. As I stated in my Epcot/Expo post, I was pulled by my doctor two weeks before the race due to bone spurs in my neck and inflamed muscles in my neck and shoulder. After being part of this awesome weekend, I decided I would go ahead and participate in the marathon. We got up at 2:00 a.m., got dressed and boarded the bus to the start line. It was definitely a cold morning, but we all made it work. Mom and Lauren decided to join me on my journey because neither of them were supposed to be running either. We made it to our corral around 5:15 a.m. and patiently waited for our turn to go. We told Tami to go run her race, so she headed off. The three of us were having a great walk with awesome conversation when a runner in the later corral came running up behind me and rammed me in my hurt shoulder. At that point, I completely understood why my doctor didn't want me to participate and I made the decision to walk off of the course at the next medical tent. I knew I wasn't going to finish this race, but I was very sad that it ended like it did. I did not leave this race as a marathoner, but one day I will be. I take this medal as a win!

Now, we did have two other runners in our group, which both finished the marathon! Kevin did not get the time he wanted, but he ran a sub 4 hour marathon and completed his first Disney race! Here are some of his best race photos!
If you want to start running, or are looking for some amazing races to run, Disney is definitely my favorite! Until next time Run Disney, I will see you in April for the Dark Side!
